Any works of mine sporting the Creative Commons logo (usually alongside a yellow border) are free to use under the Creative Commons CC-BY Attribution 4.0 International license. Basically, this means you’re free to use it for whatever as long as you provide credit to the original creator. My CC library is geared mostly toward electronic and ambient tracks for streams and YouTube videos, so if that’s what you’re after, then you’re in the right place!
LICENSABLE THROUGH ENVATO MARKET
Envato is an industry-leading marketplace where people purchase and sell creative assets, from music, to graphics, to even Twitch stream overlays (I guess those fall under graphics, too, but I digress). If you’re looking to score your more serious projects such as radio and film, this is place to go. Once you purchase a license that fits your needs (there are multiple types), you’re free to do as you wish with the music. Also, you won’t find anything I post here on any streaming services.
REMIXES & PERSONAL PROJECTS
Before I shifted focus to mostly producing free-to-use and licensable work, I often just wrote music for my own enjoyment, or for my family and loved ones. These pieces, while available on all major streaming platforms for the casual listener, aren’t allowed for use in anyone’s projects (unless I’ve given them specific permission). Also, I don’t have the legal right to say whether or not anyone can use the remixes I’ve made, since I’m not the owner of the original material. Regardless, I hope you enjoy them!
TUNECASTLE - MUSIC IS FOR EVERYONE
One of the biggest hurdles I ran into when I started taking interest in making music in high school was there wasn’t much information that felt readily available to aspiring young composers like me. With that in mind, I started Tunecastle — a YouTube multimedia project with the sole goal of providing a repository of information on topics like music theory, composition, orchestration, and more. While we do have some products for sale in various formats, we will never keep any knowledge behind a paywall — ever.
